Steel Pole Bath Tub was so great. And the story behind Unlistenable is pretty funny too/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1347021818574327333.post-65540695327748009202012-12-08T02:48:43.421-05:002012-12-08T02:48:43.421-05:00Thanks for your responses to the questions Andrew,...Thanks for your responses to the questions Andrew, enjoyed the Hell out of them. The bone dry wit & frankness is appreciated.

"Mission From God" is one of the best albums I've heard this year: all instrumentation, vocals, recording & atmosphere are executed for maximum impact. With respect, as I didn't live through it, I can't imagine the dread & sickness in the air before Sutcliff was finally caged. The 2 guys I've mentioned the album to have been pointed in the direction of your & Dave's statements, not merely left at "it's a PxVx album about a serial killer d00d!" You have my word on that.
I do think you guys have produced a powerful work that causes the listener to... "touch" on the emotions at the heart of the musical/lyrical content. Cliche possibly, but an accurate one for myself. Once "Mission" is over, "depressed" is too blunt a description for my state. "Exhilarated" by mostly "HAUNTED." By feelings of bared teeth and non-stop sleet rain.

Not sure how that comes across - it's meant to be a sincere compliment.

Now before I clog this space with my chatter, I'd also like to say that the work Greg does with NDY is definitely some thing I covet in my part of the world. I get the sense that overseas punk/grind/pv "scenes" are being flooded by a lot of derivative and thoughtless material... so it's great to hear your area has such a killer Quality music event; makes me imagine the chaos I savoured once I finally got hold of the "Fiesta Come Alive" comp down here

I'm also keen to hear the further integration of noise/ambience on future CoH releases, you guys wield it well.

Oh, and thanks for the headsup on Urine Cop, keen to hear how it erupts in the life context. I was having a so-called "bad day," then played the 1st demo for the first time... I don't think I can even say I felt better: more like my mind had been WIPED OUT.
And for this, I salute them.NickHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06095518936106293115noreply@blogger.com
